The final course in the M.S. in Adult Education Program is entitled "Seminar in Adult and Higher Education" (HRD 649) which is commonly called "the capstone seminar." In this course people work on an idea or question in which they are keenly interested, get critical input from classmates, and write a paper with an eye toward publication in the education literature.
Later in the year the program sponsors a celebration and luncheon to honor a small number of capstone papers and their authors. The 2017 capstone celebration presenters were Lisa Dittrich (Servant Leadership), Jessica Dolce (Compassion Care and Expressive Writing), and Maria MacDougal (Community-Building in Online Education)
