Library & Materials Policies
- Your library record is private. We will not discuss or even acknowledge your library record to others without your express permission.
- Your library record is for your own personal use. Access should not be given to other people or institutions. Doing so can result in your account being blocked. Some items are rare and valuable and may be lent on condition that they are only used in a USM library location and cannot leave the building.
- Electronic items are stored for six weeks. After that time, they are deleted from the server.
- We guarantee that we will process five requests for you a day. While we typically can process more than that, after your first five other patrons will be prioritized as needed.
- You are responsible for items you borrow. If they are not returned or damaged/destroyed, you are responsible for the replacement cost. Lost or damaged item costs will result in your library record being blocked and the charges sent to student billing as appropriate.
