UMS Libraries Integrated Library System (ILS) Transition

Features Spotlight

Public Side

The following features we hope will enhance our patrons' experience when using the new system.

  • Students, you can now search more easily for course reserve titles in the new catalog using the course reserves search option. You can search by book title, course and number, or professor!
  • Everyone, if you want to save a title you want to read later or titles you've read, you can save them to your account by clicking on the "pin" icon in their record. Make sure to sign in to save them before you close your session. If you want to see all that you've "pinned," sign in and click on the pin icon at the top of the page, or click on your name and choose the "Favorites" option.

Library Side

The following are features we thought to point out that may make your work easier.

  • Adding processes to your Quick Links Menu - if you click on the star that shows up when you scroll over a process that you use a lot, you can add it to your Quick Links menu. Then you can go to the Alma Homepage (or My Homepage - currently it says Alma Production) to see all your quick links.
  • And that's not all! When you are on your Alma Homepage, you can pin your Quick Links to the top of your site so you can see them all the time! And/or you can use keyboard shortcuts as shown next to the quick link!
  • You know the vertical bar on the left side of your work site that has links to the major functions of your work (Fulfillment, Discovery, Acquisitions, Resources, or whatever might be there)? If you go into your Alma Homepage, you can choose the "Customize main menu links" to sort how you want the links to show. Put your favorites wherever you want from top to bottom!
