Course Description

An introduction to probability and statistics through lecture and lab. Particular topics include random variables and their distributions, methods of descriptive statistics, estimation and hypothesis testing, regression, and correlation. Prerequisite: successful completion of the University's college readiness requirement in mathematics.

Hypothesis Testing

The latter portion of a semester course introducing statistics typically covers hypothesis testing.  Below you will find a good video from Khan Academny explaining the nature of a hypothesis test.  The second link provides some examples of a left tailed, right tailed and two tailed hypothesis tests using a sample mean.
