If you Google, do so responsibly

Google Advanced Search

Use Google Advanced Search to limit your searches by domain names (.edu, .org or .gov), searching for or eliminating words or phrases, and selecting a time frame, reduces the number of results and allows you to get a more focused search.

Google Scholar provides easy searching of scholarly literature on the Internet across many disciplines. Access to the library's subscription resources is through the "Full Text @ USM" link.

Use Google Scholar if you want only scholarly writings. Many will have been published in journals to which USM subscribes or you can request for free using InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Sign into the MyUSM Portal to have our library holdings displayed.

Published by the Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, this report presents 38 key indicators in the areas of family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health.
The Association of Social Work Boards
The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) provides "information on the legal regulation of social work" throughout the U.S. and Canada, including state level information, and information on licensing exam schedules and preparation.
Campbell Collaboration
The Campbell Collaboration promotes positive social and economic change through the production and use of systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis for evidence-based policy and practice.
Kids Count Data Center: State Trends in Child Well-Being
The non-profit Annie E. Casey Foundation regularly publishes research and policy reports, including the yearly KIDS COUNT Data Book, based on data featured in its KIDS COUNT Data Center.
National Association of Social Workers
Provides news items of interest to social workers, membership information, full text of Practice Standards, and more.
Association for Psychological Science
National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). NREPP is an evidence-based repository and review system providing reliable information on mental health and substance use interventions to the public.
